GAWDA & CGA Announce the 2020 Young & Emerging Professionals Summit

HOLLYWOOD, Florida  — CGA’s new Young & Emerging Professionals Committee has been hard at work planning this groundbreaking series of webinars, launching in mid-August and running through the end of September 2020. Registration is complimentary for all participants.*

This innovative series of online events, co-hosted by the Compressed Gas Association (CGA) and the Gases & Welding Distributors Association (GAWDA), promises to deliver unparalleled learning opportunities for the compressed gas industry’s next generation of great safety thinkers and leaders.

GAWDA President Abydee Butler Moore has been key in launching this initiative. “We are thrilled to co-host the industry’s inaugural Young & Emerging Professionals Summit with CGA.  The program is a 6-week 10-session series targeting technical education and strategic safety discussion to close the industry’s knowledge gap.  GAWDA member companies must participate in the CGA Subscription Program to enroll their teams.  The attendee list of the #2020YPSummit will be the who’s who of our industry’s next generation leadership across all focus areas – business ownership, operations, and sales.  Join GAWDA and CGA as we embark upon mitigating our industry’s biggest threat – the brain drain.”

The event is made up of 10 unique sessions from August 18 – September 29, 2020.  Individual webinars will cover an exceptional lineup of educational topics including: cylinder filling (industrial and medical gases); hydrogen production, storage, transport, and emerging applications; and oxygen safety (cleaning, compatibility, and lessons learned).

These sessions will focus on communicating the reasons for requirements in today’s safety standards, including lessons learned through incidents, near misses, and the personal experiences of each presenter. Participants may register for a single webinar in the series, or as many as all 10.

*Please Note: Summit attendance is limited to young and emerging professionals who work for member companies in good standing with CGA or GAWDA (in order to register through GAWDA, an individual’s company must participate in the CGA publications subscription program). “Young and emerging professionals” are defined as those aged 45 years or younger, OR someone who is new to their area of industry operations.
