Standing Committees

Executive Committee

  • The responsibility of this committee is audit and financial control matters. The committee assists the Treasurer and Executive Director in presenting to the Board an annual budget and is responsible for assessing and making recommendations regarding any financial reports and/or contracts submitted to the Board.

Finance Committee

  • The Finance Committee will assist the Board of Directors in fulfilling its fiduciary responsibility to the organization by ensuring that proper financial, accounting and audit controls are in place. The committee will meet annually with GAWDA’S designated investment firm to confirm that the investment strategy for GAWDA’s reserve fund aligns with the short and long term goals of the organization.  The committee is not responsible for developing annual budgets or business plans, but will assist the Executive Director and Executive Committee as requested with financial analysis required to develop such plans.

 Government Affairs Committee

  • The Government Affairs Committee exists to educate, guide, and advise members about regulatory and legal issues that may affect our businesses and direct advocacy efforts towards the government to represent members’ interests.

Industry Partnering Committee

  • The purposes of this Committee are: to provide a proactive forum for suppliers and distributors dedicated to the continual improvement of the welding supply/equipment and gas distribution industry; to communicate to our membership ideas regarding operational, marketing and systems approaches to improve the quality of service to our customer base and; to serve as a vehicle to facilitate communication and understanding between suppliers and distributors leading to improved profitability for both parties.

Insurance & Benefits Committee

  • The purpose of the Insurance and Benefits Committee is to ensure our members have access to quality and comprehensive insurance products at the lowest possible cost for all of their business needs. The Committee will work towards having the most current insurance and benefit offerings possible and market them to the members.

Leadership Development Committee

  • The purpose of this Committee is to present to the Annual Convention a slate of the Board of Directors in accordance with the Bylaws of the Association.

Member Services Committee

  • The purpose of the Member Services Committee is to 1) communicate and educate GAWDA benefits to both current and prospective members, 2) align activities per GAWDA initiatives, 3) enhance GAWDA activities by interactive programs, and 4) engage existing membership to ensure retainment.

Safety Committee

  • The purpose of this Committee is to promote safe practices and provide information leading to an increased awareness of overall concepts of safety. This Committee shall conduct liaison with other Industry-related associations as pertains to safety and technical matters, i.e., Compressed Gas Association, American Welding Society, etc.

  • To provide young executives with educational programming and networking opportunities which develop the skills and knowledge needed to reach personal and professional objectives that contribute to their companies, GAWDA and themselves.

Planning Committees

Annual Convention Planning Committee

  • The Committee shall be responsible for developing the programing for the Annual Convention. The Convention Committee, shall supervise the Headquarters Office which is responsible for implementing the programs and arrangements for the Annual Convention.
